Welcome to Clare High School

Clare High School is a leading academic Year 7-12 secondary school located in the Clare and Gilbert Valley, with approximately 550 students. The school has 10 feeder schools, both public and private. Many students also transition to the school from the broader district to access the wide choice of curriculum options. Clare High School enjoys strong community support, and many links are made between the two to build a strong sense of community spirit which is vital to rural areas. Our connections to community are vital to the successful opportunities our young people can access outside of our curriculum:

   •     Lions Youth Of the Year Award
   •     Royal Adelaide Show
   •     Wine Making
   •     The Rite Journey
   •     Operation Flinders
   •     Relay for Life

Clare High School was established in 1921 and has been developed on its new site since 1971. It includes a Resource Centre, Music suite, Gymnasium, upgraded laboratories and Technical Studies rooms, a dedicated Home Economics Centre, a new Visual Arts and Media hub, a hall, an Agricultural Centre, and a “healthy schools” canteen facility. In addition, the school has a Special Class and a Disability Unit which supports the learning needs of our students with disabilities. Our Student Wellbeing team includes a full time Student Wellbeing Counsellor and Christian Pastoral Care Worker, Year Level Coordinators and an Aboriginal Education Teacher. There is a strong Prefect group and Student Representative Council and a commitment to improve student voice in the teaching and learning program.

Clare High School has a clearly defined performance and improvement agenda. There is a focus on High Achievement, Wellbeing and Engaging with Families and Community. We demonstrate a “strong embedded belief that every child can learn”. Our motto is “To Seek a Worthy Goal”, and our School Values underpin our school ethos:
