The Active Citizenship Convention is an annual 3-day event, which brings together students, educators, experts, government officials and community stakeholders in the interests of democracy, civics and citizenship. Each day students attending will join youth-led learning experiences, including
• Dynamic keynote speakers and interactive panels on youth influence, digital engagement and the role of media in a healthy democracy.
• Youth-led interactive group sessions on reimagining what it means to be an active citizen.
• Lunch with legends and leaders – a powerful opportunity to connect with inspirational Australians from sport, politics, the arts and community life.
• Live music performance created from student reflections and voices captured during the day.
• A well-known MC will guide each day’s program, adding humour, heart, and a relatable voice that will energise and connect with students.
