Principal's Message - Mid Term Update

Term 2, Week 6 - 6 June 2025

Dear Clare High School Community,

I am delighted to share with you the latest updates and achievements from our school community.

Lesley Squires Honoured
We are proud to announce that Lesley Squires, a former Agriculture teacher at our school, has been awarded a life membership to the Agricultural Teachers Association of South Australia. This prestigious recognition reflects her dedication and significant contributions to agricultural education both here at CHS and across the state.

Year 8 Camp in Adelaide
Our Year 8 students recently returned from an exciting camp in Adelaide. The experience provided them with valuable learning opportunities and the chance to build lasting friendships.

Biggest Morning Tea
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Biggest Morning Tea. Your contributions helped raise funds for a worthy cause, and it was wonderful to see our school community come together.

Public Education Day & SASPA Positive Stories Campaign
We celebrated Public Education Day with the launch of the SASPA Positive Stories Campaign. This initiative highlights the successes and positive impacts of public education in South Australia, and I would like to invite past and present students to send in their positive stories to us. We would like to publish some of them over the next few months.

Operation Flinders
A group of our students have actively participated in Operation Flinders, an outdoor adventure program that fosters resilience and teamwork. We are proud of their achievements and growth through this experience. I would also like to thank Jacob Hayes and Bek Holland for taking the students and ensuring they had this opportunity to grow.

Reconciliation Week
During Reconciliation Week, our Year 7/8 students engaged in learning about the referendum, deepening their understanding of our shared history and the importance of reconciliation.

Upcoming Events
We warmly invite the community to join us for the opening of our Bush Food Garden and Yarning Circle on 30th June. Additionally, mark your calendars for Illuminate on the 2nd of July, a celebration of the creativity and innovation of our amazing CHS students.

Gratitude to Tim Edmunds and Family
I would like to extend a very big thank you to Tim Edmunds and his family for generously upgrading our cattle yards. This enhancement will greatly benefit our show steers program.

Stage 1 Food Tech Class
Congratulations to our Stage 1 Food Tech class for their outstanding effort in cooking and serving meals at the Clare Valley Community Kitchen earlier this week. Your dedication to community service is commendable.

Year 7/8 Knockout Netball
Our Year 7/8 netball team played with great spirit, winning one match and narrowly missing out on another. Well done to all the players for their hard work and sportsmanship.

SRC Dress-Up Day
Today, we enjoyed a fun-filled SRC Dress-Up Day with the theme “Business Up Top and Party on the Bottom.” It was a fantastic way to end the week with laughter and creativity.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Warm regards,

Natasha Dunn
