Year 7 – 2025 Port Vincent Aquatics Camp

Year 7 Port Vincent Aquatics Camp – Wednesday, 5 March – Friday, 7 March 2025

The 2025 Year 7 Camp to Port Vincent Aquatic Centre will be conducted from Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th March, Week 6 of first term.

The camp is designed to develop positive relationships amongst students with an emphasis placed on team and group building skills. This camp will provide an excellent opportunity for teachers and students to get to know each other outside of the formal classroom setting. Whilst on camp, students will undergo skills and fun activities instructed by Port Vincent Aquatics in the water sports such as Kayaking, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Knee Boarding and Sailing.  This is a great opportunity for students to try these new sports and skills for the first time in many cases.

The cost of the camp including meals, accommodation, aquatics program and transport is $250 (inc GST) per person. This price includes CAP subsidising some of the accommodation, travel and aquatic costs.  A deposit of $100 along with the below permission slip needs to be returned to the Student Services counter by Monday 3rd February. The remaining $150.00 is required by Friday 28th February. Alternative payment arrangements can be negotiated for any family who may have trouble in meeting the camp costs. Please contact Heather Guthrie to negotiate this payment plan if required.

Whilst on camp, the students will be in dorm sleeping arrangements at Port Vincent Caravan Park Camp Site.  The Port Vincent Caravan Park also caters for us, and I can assure you the students are very well fed whilst on camp.

The Year 7 Roll Class teachers (Mr Rimmer, Ms Flowers and Mrs Holland) and Year 7/8 Coordinator, Kristy McCarthy will attend this camp, along with other key CHS staff, including Katie Liebelt. If your child requires extra assistance in any way, please indicate this on the permission slip attached and we will contact you to discuss their needs in more detail.

Please ensure that the below Water Safety Consent form is filled out and returned to your child’s Roll Class Teacher ASAP. Any students requiring medication whilst on camp will need to also include a Medication Authority Form which can be obtained from student services.

Year 7 Students wishing to participate in the Aquatics Camp MUST complete the following Water Safety Consent Form together with the Permission Slip and return to their Roll Class Teacher.
