Content: Students have the option to continue their mathematical studies in Stage 2 by selecting from the four available Mathematics electives available in Year 12.
Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods are more advanced courses that prepare students for tertiary studies in fields requiring strong mathematical skills, while General Mathematics and Essential Mathematics focus on practical problem-solving skills for various career pathways.
Stage 1 Mathematics provides the foundation for further study in Stage 2 Mathematical Methods and Stage 2 Specialist Mathematics. Students who complete 10 credits of this subject with a C grade or better will meet the numeracy requirement of the SACE.
