Content: Students develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of the nature, type and structure of the workplace. They will learn about the value of unpaid work to society, future trends in the world of work, workers’ rights and responsibilities and career planning. Students can undertake learning in the workplace and develop and reflect on their capabilities, interests, and aspirations. The subject may include the undertaking of vocational education and training (VET) as provided under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
There are three areas of study within Workplace Practices:
- Industry and Work Knowledge
- Vocational Learning
Vocational Education and Training (VET) – this can either be a TAFE course or a work placement.
Assessment: Students are assessed using the SACE Performance Standards. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
- Assessment Type 1: Folio
- Assessment Type 2: Performance
- Assessment Type 3: Reflection
