Year 10 STEM/Robotics

Content: Through working with the students, this course will cover STEM concepts and Robotic investigations. There are no prerequisites or assumed knowledge, but students should have an interest in the STEM subjects, programming and computational thinking. Overview: This course has been designed to develop student personal capabilities through exploring and expanding their understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics spread across multi disciplines of the Australian Curriculum. Some examples of topics that may be investigated include the following:

  • The Chemistry of body applicant products [perfumes, cosmetics, hair products, skin creams; tattoo inks…] and their effects on human biology through an historical perspective, the material resources used, and principles of Organic Chemistry.
  • Reading and following plans and instruction manual information
  • to realize the construction of a specific piece of robotic equipment.
  • Undertaking a series of developmental projects to understand simple electronic components and circuitry.
  • Understand the fundamentals of digital circuitry

Assessment: Students are assessed using the Australian Curriculum Achievement Standard.
