Content: As the first level of non-compulsion, Year 9 Media Arts represents an area of study where students engage in product creation to a deeper and more sophisticated level. Disciplines include video production, photography, digital imaging, and game design. Students explore how media products influence and impact their lives, interrogate the works of current and past practitioners, and engage in collaborative productions. For each unit of work, students present digital folios which contain research, analytical, production and reflection elements, displaying their understandings and accomplishments. There is a focus on digital technologies and production techniques and processes.

Assessment: Students are assessed using the Australian Curriculum Achievement Standards.
